Last time, I wrote about the current of time accelerating.
Since then (May 17) Scott and I’ve been swept along like twigs on a river, heading for the cataract!
On June 3, Scott and I both worked our last day at our respective employers. June 4th we began the mad dash to both pack our home in preparation for the move, and to prepare the house for sale. In the ensuing week (+ 2 days) we have:
Taken 4 truckloads of junk to the dump
Taken 1 truckload of recyclables to the recycle bins (FULL Pickup load)
Taken 1 truckload of building supplies to ReStore (Habitat for Humanity)
Emptied the attic
Emptied, primed, painted the upstairs guest room
Emptied, primed, painted the downstairs room
Emptied the garage, and power washed the garage and driveway
Landscaped (with assistance from Wohlerscap Landscaping) the front yard (See Below).
Painted the Dining Room ceiling
Repaired and painted wainscoating in bedroom
Engaged a handiman to take on the Kitchen and downstairs bedroom ceilings.
Taken over 100 pounds of clothing to a donation site.
In addition, just about everything is now packed. In short, we’ve done a lot! And both of us are wiped out. So much so that we’re taking this evening off to rest.
There’s some bad news, though. We have been counting on some assistance with the actual drive to Las Cruces, but that has fallen through. So, somehow, Scott and I are going to have to do this on our own. We can do it. Scott can, at any rate. I’ll just have to take it easy, and stop if I notice myself getting drowsy.
