Rainy Days and Fridays never get me down

September 13, 2013

This low pressure front has brought us lots of rain. This morning I awoke to the sound of rain, so I encouraged Nikki to go back to sleep, and attempted to follow my own advice. We made it until 6:43 am, when the combination of my bladder and Nikki’s whimpering finally dragged me from bed. After finishing my morning routine, I heard the rain starting again.

We have metal patio covers, and a little insignificant sprinkle can sound like a downpour. So I opened the door to look out. No insignificant sprinkle, this! Those of you of an age to recall the old Clint Eastwood westerners of the 60s will recall that at some point in virtually every movie Clint would be standing out in the dark, as rain poured in sheets… yeah, this was what that was like, though it was light out… actually the sky was so overcast, it was more like dusk than daylight!

I made coffee, then went and got Ixchel, chained up and by the time we were ready to go, the rain had passed! So we set off on our walk, fording the river between us and the dog green. The girls quickly did their business (poor things really REALLY had to go!) Then we began our morning walk. We got as far as the corner when the rain began to pick up again.

So, we’re home. Maybe later we can try our daily “longwalk”.

Prayer Intention

You pray in your distress and in your need;
would that you might pray also in the fullness of your joy and in your days of abundance.
― Kahlil Gibran

Have you ever been in a situation where you are SO excited, your life SO full, joy SO fills your heart that you feel as though you might burst? I have, in various times, various places, various circumstances. The glee, the joy so overwhelming that there are only a handful of ways to react. One can cry, one can belly laugh, and one can pray to our Papa God, or as friends in Omaha say, our “Daddy God”.

I usually do all three simultaneously.

I continue to pray for Direction, and specifically this week for Direction in my personal life.
