September 21, 2013
It was inevitable, I guess. I do recall saying I would try to post daily for the month of September. Unfortunately, nothing struck my fancy so I chose not to post yesterday.
Several weeks ago, Scott and I joined a group of friends for a hike up by Dripping Springs Nature area. I posted about it here on September 1.
In preparation for the hike, Scott and I bought some day packs, and a case of water (we each took 4 liters on the hike). We also bought two big tubs o trail mix at Target. One was a Zen Mix or some such, the other Monster Mix. The zen had wasabi peas, sesame stick, various nuts & rice crackers. The monster mix had nuts, m&ms, reeses pieces, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips and something else… unimportant. The day of the hike was hot, and when I finally opened the little zipper bag to take a bite of the Monster Mix, the chocolate had all melted. I commented to Scott we could make our own trail mix better.
So this week, I finally stopped talking about it, and we purchased our own stuff, and I made trail mix:
M&Ms
Reeses Pieces
Raisins
Sesame Sticks (really hard to find!)
Almonds
Peanuts
Cashews
Wasabi Peas
It’s actually pretty good, and the neat thing is, it’s six cents per ounce cheaper than the stuff we bought at Target, coming in at twenty seven cents an ounce.
Last night was Potluck night here at Trails West. By the time we got there, only one table had seats available… the one Mudder & Pops were at, so we enjoyed dinner with them! I volunteered to help organize the next one, and Mudder & Pops, & Scott & I have volunteered to organize the January potluck.
Tonight’s another potluck with friends!
And that’s the way it is! 😉
Prayer Intention
Prayer “is the root, the fountain, the mother of a thousand blessings.” Chrysostom
I continue to pray for Direction, and specifically this week for Direction in my spiritual life.
