I’m encouraged by… the encouragement I’ve received today! I discovered at least two people actually read this from time to time, and both indicate I should keep going! Actually, I know a few more than that read this.
My brother even sent me a list of topics… I love it! Bob, I promise, I’ll delve into them in the days ahead; or, at least some version of those topics. I may excercise some creative license in how I address them!
I actually planned this post Thursday morning while I was writing Thursday’s post, so I’m going to go ahead with it.
Years ago, I came across an author whose works I really enjoy. I began a correspondence with her. She writes in several different “universes”. She is a science fiction writer. Each of her story lines has something intriguing to me.
Now, if you all recall an article some weeks ago lamenting my lack of creativity, that has some bearing on this. I contacted her about that lament. And, well, to make a long story short, I sent her a piece of fiction I had written. It’s sort of an opening chapter of a longer piece that had not been written.
She seems to have liked it, and is now encouraging me to write more about it. Today I wrote 2 chapters. Or, at least two segments. I still haven’t decided whether I’m writing a short story, a novella or a full length book. I’ll know when I get to the end! It too is a science fiction piece. And I find myself talking with my characters as I write.
Will it ever be published? Who knows? Maybe I’ll self publish it. Or, maybe not. I think being only a small handful of pages into this book it’s a bit early to say.
