Whadaya know?!?! I just noticed I wasn’t updating the daily highs & lows. Though, at this time of year there hasn’t been much variation day to day. Still, if I’m gonna do it, better do it right!
I spent several hours Thursday working on the job front, and the rest of the day reading the book I mentioned yesterday. I finished that around 7 pm Thursday night! Now, I have to wait several months for her to complete the trilogy! Grrrrr!
And once again, it’s a short post!
Daily Gratitude
So, yesterday, I told the story of how I came out to my BB (big brother).
After our conversation, I thought to myself “Okay, that wasn’t too bad. Now that cat is out of that bag.” I honestly figured BB would speak to BBMO (Big Brother Minus One). But, of course that was not to be. BB’s parting comment was “You know you have to talk to BBMO about this!”
And so it was that later that day, I found myself walking with BBMO along the beach. I really believe that walk was the best conversation I’ve had with BBMO in all the years of my life leading up to that walk… and it may be even the best we’ve EVER had.
Many LGBT will have no problem identifying with the concerns I had going into that conversation. Things are changing today, but still slowly. My BBMO is a very devout Christian, and we (LGBT folk) often find that our relationships cannot survive an encounter with a christian, no matter how close the relationship. But, my BBMO supported me, embraced me for who I am.
Since that day, my BBMO and I have been closer than we ever had been. And today BBMO is a frequent commenter on my blog posts, and in so doing, indicating that he is interested enough in me to read this poor blog.
It is for these reasons, and many other that, along with my BB, I am especially grateful today for my BBMO. Dude, you’re the best BBMO a guy could have!
Prayer Intention
“If the only prayer you say in your life is “thank you,” that would suffice.”
–Meister Eckhart
Gratitude continues to be the focus of my prayer this week.
