So, yesterday, we went to church as we do most Sundays. We were alerted last week that there would be some changes, and even what some of those were. They still caught me off guard! Instead of going in and finding a seat, we waited in the lobby until the doors were opened. Then, singing we entered into the sanctuary. All the chairs had been rearranged in to a more circular configuration. At least this way we couldn’t be accused of sitting in someone’s special seat! Just to be sure, though, I located the lady who had asked us to move, and followed her in, allowing her to pick out her seat first!
From church, we went to lunch at Village Inn, then came home to paint our deck. There isn’t a lot of prose one can dedicate to painting a deck. Once it was messy, covered in dried carpet glue. Now, there it sits, beautiful in a cloak of gray! One more coat of paint, but that’ll await another day!
Sunday night, we attended our second karaoke. Scott danced with a friend of ours, but neither of us took the stage.
And, now. It’s Monday! What shall I do? I shall write. NaNoWriMo calls me, and since I wrote not a word yesterday, I have got to knock out 4000 words today… that is my goal. I’ll be happier with 5000 words. Or 6000.
DAILY GRATITUDE
Continuing the thread of gratitude for each of my senses, today’s focus is on the Sense of Taste. This one really gets me in trouble! If it’s sweet, I love it. If it’s salty, I love it. If it’s bread or baked, I love it! But, I think for the simple fact that our sense of taste can add so much variety to our life, it’s important to not take it for granted; to be grateful for this important sense!
PRAYER INTENTIONS
“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11
I’m foregoing the “Prayer Intention tiles” that I have spoken of over the past weeks today.
Instead, I’m focusing my prayer request on God’s guidance. The verse I’ve quoted, Jer. 29:11, has spoken to me for over ten years, actually, since about the same time as I first heard of the Prayer of Jabez. I believe this. I have seen the fruits of this all these years in my life.
I’m hoping that one of two prospects pan out this week. It would entail taking on a management position in a retail setting, in three small stores nearby.
