Engaging

l hope everyone had a really Happy Thanksgiving this past Thursday!  As I indicated when I last wrote here, Wednesday through Saturday were really busy!

Wednesday, Scott and I had to put the finishing touches on preparations for our guest.  After picking J up at the airport in El Paso, and giving him a brief tour on the way home, we went out to eat at La Posta in Mesilla.

Thanksgiving Day, after walking the girls, I sat down to do some writing for my NaNoWriMo project.  At noon, I finished a chapter, and the count had exceeded the 50,000 target, so I have officially completed the NaNoWriMo event.  Yay me!  Still quite a ways to go on the job.

Friday, Scott & I drove J on a sight-seeing trip around southern New Mexico, stopping first at the St. Claire Winery in Deming, for a bit of a taste, we then drove up to Silver City.  Had a cup of coffee at a cute little coffee shop, then walked around downtown, where we checked out the museum, and learned about “The Big Ditch”.

After another drive around the town, we headed north into the mountains to a little town called Pinos Altos, “Tall Pines”.  There’s an old bar there, called the Buckhorn.  Originally built in the late 1800s, it holds a saloon, restaurant and an opera house.  We stopped there for a VERY expensive, but delicious dinner, before driving back home, over 120 miles.  We got home about 9 or so.

Saturday, we took J to the airport for his flight back to Houston, then drove home and collected our girls.  We took them for a walk over on the La Llorona trail.

So, that gets us all caught up on news for now.  I promise to get more into writing here in the next day or so!
