It’s amazing how time gets away from me! Here we are nearly to the end of January, and my blog seems to have slipped away from me. To be honest, I don’t like that anymore than some of you.
I miss my blog. And I miss my readers! It didn’t dawn on me until just recently just how much I miss folks. When I was writing my blog (nearly) daily, I could count on emails from several of my readers, and also comments from other readers left on my Facebook or Twitter accounts. I actually hadn’t realized just how many readers I had until I stopped hearing from you all!
So, let me tell you all a little of what has been transpiring over the past couple of months that has kept me from writing here.
First of all, I’ve already related here that I have a job, working at a local shop in Old Mesilla on the Plaza. The job exhausts me. When I come home at night, I’m pretty much done with my day. The thought of coming up with a post actually doesn’t cross my mind.
I get up at 6 am, sometimes a little earlier. But I don’t have much time in the morning for blogging, either.
I am hoping that, as time goes by, I will become more and more acclimated to the requirements of my job, and so will be able to write after I get done.
And this brings me to something else that I have not related before on my blog. At the end of December, I had some health problems that left me tired and drained. I’ve had to fight with that in addition to the efforts of my job. I’m still struggling with these health issues, dealing with doctors of various types. I am improving. (Except I am, I think) coming down with a cold today.) I will be fine!
So, towards the end of December, I asked for suggestions to write about. I got quite a few good ones (and one or two others that are, quite frankly, stupid. I mean, come on. “The convergence of string theory within the realm of nuclear biology”? Seriously? Does that even MEAN anything? Is that twine? Yarn? Thread? Cotton? Wool?)
I put the good ideas into my editorial calendar, then even went so far as to give you all an idea as to when I would write.
It didn’t happen, did it? So, here’s what I will promise you today. I will try to write more often. And I will try to draw from the so-called “Editorial Schedule” that I drew up. And even more, I will try NOT to write anymore “Why I haven’t written more” blog entries.
