August 6 2015

Yesterday, I appear to have been “Calendar Challenged”. My title should have read “August 5…”.

I’ve been asked by one of you to share my dieting secret. Let me just say, before I do, that if I had paid attention to my big brothers’ advice years ago, I’d have been smart! But I didn’t.

The diet is easy. Well, easy to remember. Actually doing it, not so much. Simply avoid carbs. I am allowed 40 gms of carbohydrates per meal. This means bread is bad. Rice is bad. Pasta is bad. Potatoes are bad. Corn is kind of bad. Tortillas are bad. Technically, cereal is bad.

However, I can have 1.5 cups of Cheerios (most varieties) every morning. That’s 30-33 Carbs.

In addition, I had to cut out ALL diet sodas. I can drink water. I can drink some coffee. I can drink unsweetened Ice Tea. I can eat nothing with artificial sweeteners. Oddly enough if I need something sweetened… I can have sugar, just not a lot, and just not every day.

Oh, and walk 2.3 miles a day, 6 days a week, in 35 minutes. Or, not in 35 minutes, just walk it!

What else for this new day?

We have a new K9! A pretty little girl named Dakota, who is 2 years old, and has been genetically tested and discovered to be Miniature Pinscher, short haired retriever, golden retriever, australian shepherd, French bulldog, boxer and Affenpinscher. I might have left something out. She looks shepherd, but is small, a little shy of my knees.

And timid. O. My. Heavens. Is she ever timid! But we’re working on that!

Tomorrow, I’ll talk a little bit more about her!
